Speaking Task 1
You are going to read the text aloud. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, and then
be ready to read it aloud. Remember that you will not have more than 2 minutes for reading aloud.
Although British athletes are not often very successful in world sporting events, they are well known for having popularized and written the rules for many games that are played internationally today. For example, Golf was first played in Scotland in the fifteenth century, and the golf club in Saint Andrews is still viewed as the leading authority on golf in the world.
The game of cricket was also first played in England in the sixteenth century, and football, rugby, and hockey were all created in England in the nineteenth century. With their great Empire in the 1800s, they were able to export these games across the globe. Without the British, football might not have become the popular sport that it is today.

You are going to take part in a telephone survey. You have to answer six questions. Give full
answers to the questions. Remember that you have 40 seconds to answer each question.

You are going to give a talk exercise routine. You will have to start in 1.5 minutes and will speak
for not more than 2 minutes (10-12 sentences).
